USMS National Championship 2-Mile Cable Swim

Four swimmers, including one from Potomac Valley, broke three national cable swim records at Chris Green Lake in Charlottesville. DC Masters' Willis Braswell broke the 55-59 men's record, tying for first place with San Diego Masters' Robert Smith. Their time was 48:21.41. The Olympic Club's Danielle Ogier broke the women's 45-49 record in 47:09.17, while 2000 Swimming Hall of Fame Inductee Barbara Dunbar, also from San Diego, broke the women's 50-54 record with a quick 44:56.43.

Danielle Muraca, 21, was the overall female winner in 44:54.57, just ahead of Barbara Dunbar, 29 years her senior. DCRP's James Kegley, 42, was the first male finisher in 41:33.36, slightly ahead of Patriot Masters' Robbie Allen, 34, in 41:41.79.
